POLL: Should the U.S. government deregulate cannabis?

  1. Someone voted "No way!"... I haven't even shared this on Facebook yet... Was it one of my followers who didn't understand the question? I personally think the government should deregulate it... or in other words, STOP regulating it and allow people to grow it and use it as they wish.

  2. I voted no, because in my eye's if the government allowed everyone to go ahead and grow it themselves and sell it, what would be changing; other than it being legal. My view is if the government regulated cannabis, grew it, sold it, taxed it, it would be cheaper and a lot more revenue put back into our economy. Which, if they are smart, is what they should do. Though, dealers now obviously don' want that to happen because then they are losing a ton of money. That, and if the government regulates it themselves, we more than likely still won't be allowed to grow it ourselves, or at least sell it ourselves. My guess is we would be able to grow it under a license, like a farm. And then the government buy it off the farmers. Everybody wins. Except the dealers. =\ From the governments perspective, I feel that would be the way to do it. I could be wrong but, that's what I thought when I read this.

  3. Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I respectfully disagree. First, when has the federal government done good job regulating anything without some sort of corruption or mismanagement take place? Second, you said, " what would be changing; other than it being legal". We would see a huge drop in international cartel trafficking AND the free market would begin to do its own regulating of cannabis, because when government stays out of peoples' ways, the people will ultimately seek out the best product for the best price... even growing their own at home. Third, the poll question focused on the U.S. - not individual states - deregulating cannabis. One can still have regulation - just on a state level, because our Tenth Amendment grants states the freedom to do this. This poll question comes down to politics... I am personally for more freedom and less government tyranny... just sayin'

  4. Yeah I understand that. My view would be from a government that actually "cares" haha!
And yeah, I was basing my opinion on the states not the federal. Just realized that =\

  6. I think the Federal government should keep it's nose out of the states business when it comes to people using medical marijuana. If a person goes through all the proper channels and IS legal with it's state.... then the feds should keep out of their business, if and I say IF this person is following the rules stated by the state. Now IF any person who does not follow the rules, yes, they deserve to pay the price. I myself find twelve plants to be enough for one person. Another thing, I'd like to see each and ever state in the Union to have legalize marijuana. For crying out loud, it is a plant, it hasn't killed a person, it doesn't lead up to stronger drugs (like some think). It takes away pain and can mellow out the biggest meanest person. No one has been abused because one has used it. So there are many good things going for it. But if the government can keep it illegal, it gains more (money) to support their own greed at the expense of others. Just a thought.
